Avail Unveils Cutting-Edge AI Summarization Tool for Hollywood Script Coverage

In a groundbreaking move for the entertainment industry, Avail has introduced its innovative ChatGPT-powered AI summarization tool, aimed at revolutionizing how Hollywood executives manage script coverage. The state-of-the-art tool promises to condense scripts and books into comprehensive summaries, loglines, synopses, character breakdowns, and tonal assessments within a matter of minutes.

Beyond script summarization, Avail has augmented its offering with a Q&A assistant tailored for production companies and talent agencies. This intelligent assistant aids in brainstorming ideas and poses content-related queries, such as suggesting suitable actors for roles or drawing comparisons to other movies and TV shows. The open beta launch this week comes with an entry-level subscription priced at $250 monthly, inclusive of four reports and a 30-day free trial, while enterprise pricing is available on request based on required credits.

Avail's CEO, Chris Giliberti, highlighted the tool's significance in streamlining decision-making for executives inundated with an overwhelming volume of content. Notably, while emphasizing that Avail's tools are designed to enhance productivity rather than replace industry creators, Giliberti stressed the importance of staying abreast of content in an industry where missing key details could lead to multimillion-dollar mistakes.

Despite the recent writers' strike centered around AI concerns, Avail assures its commitment to ethical usage. Built on ChatGPT-4, the platform features a proprietary processing layer ensuring reliable coverage, even on low-quality documents, and generating summaries devoid of hallucinations. Giliberti clarified Avail's responsible approach to data privacy, stating that user-uploaded content is not utilized to train AI models, addressing concerns surrounding copyright infringement.

Founded on a wealth of industry experience, including Gimlet Pictures and Zestworld, Avail has garnered $11.8 million in funding from investors such as Seven Seven Six, General Catalyst, and Advancit Capital. Looking ahead, the company envisions incorporating team collaboration functionality and developing custom models for production, engineering, and planning, addressing significant pain points within the Hollywood landscape.
